I help seniors age well as a health & wellness coach
and aging in place specialist

this is a stressful phase of life -
you can close the gap between
where you are and
where you want to be
with a coach
Certified by the National Board of Health & Wellness Coaching after completing intensive training through the Mayo Clinic. Specialty in well-aging for seniors and helping those caring for aging parents and children meet life goals.
Occupational therapist, licensed and registered, centered on a holistic, multi-generational approach to helping families navigate life challenges. Focus on community health, mental health, physical disability, & cognitive impairment.
Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) through the National Association of Homebuilders . Expertise in modifying home environments to accommodate current & future functional challenges through Boast Home Management.
Certified Independent Consultant for dementia care, Positive Approach to Care. Specialty in helping caregivers adapt the environment and routines, managing barriers and stressors, so all stakeholders in the care equation succeed.
Positive emotions are associated with wellbeing and motivation. Nurture them. You're not broken in need of fixing - you need help tapping the inner strengths you already possess.
Outcomes are more durable when you take ownership of the behavior change process. The coach's role centers on empowering you to develop strategies and identify resources to meet your life goals.
Providing the right type of support for the given stage of change and beliefs about the need for change, from building knowledge and motivation earlier to building a new action-oriented identity later.
Explore all aspects of life to pinpoint what isn't working and prioritize what challenges to address first. Clients often identify upstream causes of dissatisfaction for the first time.
We can only grow into what we have envisioned ourselves to be. Envisioning is the process of refining the fruits of the wide-open exploration to a clear picture of the person we want to become.
Some work toward specific time-bound goals. Others do better at accumulating small wins each day. Either way, you're going to accomplish something new tomorrow and feel fulfilled at day's end.
Who are you answering to if you drop the ball? At this stage, it's okay if your motivation is being able to tell that person, "mission accomplished." We all need validation. It's okay. You're doing great.
The best moments in my work are when I coach myself out of a job. Independence is reached when your motivation centers on an inner satisfaction without concern about what others think.
Develop a plan for setbacks, which inevitably occur because life happens. After a hiccup, there is no thinking, there is only doing - by following a plan that's already in place.
Given that we evolved in such a way that prosocial behavior supports our survival, I believe humans are inherently good. When we falter, it's usually because something external got in the way - environment, stressors, lack of resources, childhood experiences, on goes the list. If what we start with is good, and the barriers to happiness can be altered, then we can make changes to become our best selves. We just need a guide (I have one myself - to help me live my best life and be the best coach I can be for clients).
To the moms and dads out there who are also caring for their moms and dads, who sometimes feel at sea, remember this: all those calls for your help - from taking one to a sports game and another to a medical appointment - mean you're the one keeping the ship afloat and sailing forward. You're crushing it. Seriously. You're doing great, even if it doesn't feel that way. If it doesn't, maybe a coach could help. When's the last time you felt amazing? Accomplished at the end of the day and not utterly spent?
I've seen what coaching can do for people, I believe in this process, and I love to serve. Something brought you to this site. Isn't it worth exploring? Spare 15 minutes to see if this a good fit for you.
